There are two groups of sources you must choose separately: News, and Blogs. News sources include print (newspapers, magazines, etc.), news wires, online news, TV, and Radio content.
To choose which News sources you would like to include in your search results, select a radio button next to a drop-down box under the News heading. There are four choices:
Choose Select a single source if you only want to search one newspaper.
Choose Select a library of sources if you would like to search a pre-selected group of sources (i.e. "Ontario Papers.") You can also create your own source library using the "Source Libraries" option in the FPinfomart settings menu.
Choose Show me the full list of databases if you would like to pick and choose which sources you would like from our full list of sources. If you choose this option, you will be presented with a categorized list of all sources available for searching on a separate screen. Click the checkboxes beside any sources you wish to include in your search. Select as many or as few sources as you require. You may select all the sources within a category by clicking the SELECT ALL box next to the source category name. Once you are satisfied with your source selections, you may click SEARCH to proceed. If you wish to save this group of sources as a library for future use, click the checkbox next to Save this group of sources in My Libraries and enter a name for the library in the space provided.
Choose None if you don't wish to include any News sources. You would select this only if you plan to search just blogs.
To select which blogs to search, you may search a single blog by choosing it from the list; you may search ALL blogs; or you may search none.
Please note that the majority of our blogs are limited to a rolling 12-month archive.
