Clipboard
[See also: Saved Folders]

You may use the Clipboard feature to collect articles as you search. Use your clipboard to collocate articles you wish to save or print at any time during your session. The clipboard is available anywhere you can view articles - in News Monitoring, Personal Profiles, Industry News, or Archives.

Once you have conducted a search, you are presented with the list of articles which meet your search criteria. A checkbox is displayed to the left of each article's headline. Check the box for any article(s) you wish to add to your clipboard. When you have selected the article(s) you wish to place on your Clipboard, choose "Add selected to clipboard" from the drop-down list at the top or bottom of your screen, and click the grey "Go" button. A clipboard icon will appear next to any article you have already placed on your Clipboard.

The number of articles currently on your clipboard will appear in the Clipboard status bar in the upper right corner of the screen.

To view your clipboard contents, click the link provided at the top of your screen, in the light blue menu bar.

Use the checkboxes next to the articles combined with the drop-down Selected Items box at the top or bottom of your screen. (To select all articles on your Clipboard, use the Select All checkbox available in the Selected Items box). Choose your display option from the drop-down list. You may also remove articles from your Clipboard using multiple document selection.

Your clipboard will automatically be emptied when you log out - so make sure you print or save your documents before you leave FPinfomart.ca! You can also add documents to a Saved Folder if you wish to preserve them for a future session.

Clipboard Options
At the top of the list of items in your Clipboard are two links: Analyze, and Empty. The Analyze link is for Media Analysis. The Empty option allows you to quickly delete all items from the Clipboard.

Adding Clipboard items to a Saved Folder
You may move a document or documents to a Saved Folder. Use the checkboxes next to the document(s) you wish to move, and then select the "Add to Saved Folder: ABC" option from the Selected Items menu. Click the "Go" button to move the item(s). You can create a new Saved Folder by choosing "Add to New Saved Folder" from the drop-down menu.

Sorting items in the Clipboard
Use the drop-down Sort menu at the top right corner of your Clipboard screen to select the sort order for your Clipboard results. By default, items are sorted by the date they were added. You may also sort by:

  • Publication date (Oldest first)
  • Publication date (Newst first)
  • Arrival Time (arrival in our database)
  • Positive Sentiment
  • Negative Sentiment
  • Circulation
