You can search for merger, acquisition and divestiture activities by vendor, acquirer, target, deal type, deal value and industry. There are two different search pages to meet your specific needs: simple search (default) and advanced search. Information goes back to 1994 and is exportable into Microsoft Excel.
Inclusion Criteria- Equity acquired transactions must have transfer of ownership of at least 10% of a company’s equity where the purchase price is at least $5,000,000 and where at least one of the parties is in Canada.
- Assets acquired transactions must have the purchase price of at least $5,000,000 and where at least one of the parties is in Canada.
- Four types of transactions (Deal Types) are included:
- Foreign Target: Any transaction where the Target is situated outside of Canada.
- Divestiture: Sales of corporate units, including divisions, wholly owned subsidiaries, and certain assets of vendor companies, both public and private.
- Publicly Traded: Acquisitions of publicly traded companies in Canada, tender offers, statutory mergers, minority-interest purchases except transactions classified as Foreign Target.
- Privately Owned: Acquisitions of privately held companies except Divestiture and Foreign Target.
Important Notes:
- Transactions are recorded as they are announced, not as they are completed.
- Cancelled transactions are not included in any of the FP M&A statistics.
- Information is updated daily
- Users can export up to 2000 records at a time.
