The Directory of Directors database provides information on over 17,000 Canadian directors and executives of Canadian companies who reside in Canada.

To search Directory of Directors (DoD), click the link in the FP Advisor portion of the left navigation menu.

There are three searches available for the DoD: Simple Search, Advanced Search, and Connectors by Person.

Simple Search allows you to search for a person by their name, and for people working in specific companies. You may search for executives or Directors in their current positions, previous positions, or both.

If you only know the person's last name, you may conduct a search with this information. However, if the name is very common, you may retrieve multiple results. If you have information about the company that employs the individual, please consider filling in the company field in addition to the surname before you search.

You can also use the * (asterisk) symbol to truncate names. For example, if you are unsure if the last name of the person you are seeking is Roberts or Robertson, enter the last name as Roberts*. Please do not truncate initials.

Advanced Search allows you to filter through and search additional fields in the database, such as:

• C-class positions (CEO, CFO, COO, etc.)
• Gender
• Company Type (not-for-profit)
• FP Industry
• Education (U. of Alberta, Queen’s U)
• Fellowships/Professional Associations (C.A, M.B.A)
• City
• Province

Connectors by Person search allows you to find links between people on different boards of directors. (A “six degrees of separation” type of connection). Search by a person’s name to find what boards they sit on and who is a board member with whom.
