Current Events are search sets that have been created by our information professionals to help you track the progress of major issues affecting Canada. Current Events topics will change to reflect currently relevant subjects. Topics will be added and removed as issues arise and are resolved.
To begin, click Current Events under the News Monitoring category on the left side of the screen. The Current Events summary page will list all active Current Events categories, with the first article from each topic shown. The total number of hits on a topic for the day being viewed is listed at the right side of the line on which the topic's title is given. Click the hit count to view all hits for that topic, for the current day.
There is a 14-day archive available for each Current Event. To view the news for a different day, use the date navigator to the right of your results set. You may add articles from Current Events to your Clipboard or Folders, or display them in a variety of formats, by checking off the appropriate boxes for all articles of interest and using the Selected Items menu.
You can have a summary of Current Events results emailed to you daily by selecting the appropriate checkboxes on the Morning E-mail Settings screen. For urgent topics, you may wish to subscribe to E-mail Alerts for a Current Event.
